A Brooklyn pedestrian fatality has prompted a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver who allegedly killed a 28-year-old newlywed. The civil action also accuses the New York City Police Department of negligence during the investigation of the fatal car accident.

The federal complaint alleges the driver who struck the woman was drunk and speeding. A crime scene investigation was reportedly initiated and then canceled because the accident victim was still alive on the way to Bellevue Hospital.
